First up, NO, you can't be the King or the Queen.
It is always good to know what to call each other
during performances
So below we have a list of persona names for Phoenix
members, as well as a brief description of their persona in some cases.
As you can see, there are several gaps, so if you
have not completed your persona details, please send them through
Kelvin's previous Persona description is
pure gold though. He put in a great deal of thought and created a detailed back
story to give some life and colour to his portrayal.
Raal bin
Hassan bin Fakim Al Umayyard
Let it be known that I am enslaved to no one. I am a free and good Christian man.
My Father, Hassan Al Umayyard was a strong and worthy merchant with a line of direct
decendency to the great man Umayyard himself, uniter of the Arab Tribes and and had trained us well in his legacy.
During a raid by infidels from across the seas my father was taken and as hostage and the ransom was paid in gold and also with me.
I was sorely abused by my new masters and realising them for the ungodly escaped and fled them. I was found by my Lord Maximillian von Bopfingen from the company of the Phoenix who treated me fairly and well and has allowed me to increase my reputation as a merchant. Over time my lord has shown me the errors of my ways and I have only recently converted to
Christianity. Being now pure in mind and soul he has offered me a place as his squire, which I have readily and not so humbly accepted.

Cormac
MacRae
|
Cormac Macrae is a minor Scottish noble, off seeking fame, fortune (and maybe
lurv if he's lucky) on the continent after being dispossessed by the bloody English. Has spent the last few years prior to joining up with Phoenix as an officer in the Scots Guard - the personal bodyguard unit of the French King, and sometimes wears the Fleur-de-Lis as a symbol of this service. |

Girl
- Costança Martin,
|
4th
of 9 (6 boys 3 girls) of a Portuguese merchant vessel captain.
Married young to a Tallow Merchant who had his own place and a
reasonable trade but he died young of a weak chest (coughed up his
own lungs he did). Having no children at this point which had
survived 2 years the guild offered to let me keep his equipment,
provided me a small financial gift for his passing, and allowed me
an apprenticeship into the guild. I still work from the small
place we had but most of my work is done traveling to villages and
making lighting for the folk in their own homes, from their own
supplies. I am still of a child-bearing age and would welcome
a partnership with a man of my standing. |

- Jöan (John) Martin, |
7th
of 9 (6 boys 3 girls) of a Portuguese merchant vessel captain.
From a young age I was out at see, learning the craft of my family.
Even though my family is wealthy, I have no hope of inheriting
anything but a miserable life at sea. The sea is an
unforgiving mistress, harsh and cold. I seek someone softer
and warmer to care for to my dying day. But first I must make
my own name, not just carry my fathers, and to this end I have found
employ as squire to the grandiose and vociferous Lord Simon de la
Croix. I shall be as fine a man as he some day, and then shall
I take a Lady as magnificent as his. |

Mistress Morag van Watervliet |
It was on a warm bright spring day in Scotland when I was born...well it had stopped raining for 10 minutes and the sun was out. Luckily I found myself born into a reasonably wealthy sheep farming family residing near the lovely city of Edinburgh. We flourished, and father being the canny Scottish merchant that he was, married me off to an older and richer wool trader. I was reasonably happy, looking after the household and eventually two children.....until the plague reared its ugly head and took away my husband and beloved children. I had to continue the business, and eventually re-married a widower from Bruges, a wool trader with whom I had developed a good business relationship. Unfortunately he was too successful and was killed in a violent revolt by the tradesmen of the town. Again I found myself alone on life's rocky seas, until a one of the towns more savvy bankers noticed that I had accumulated a reasonable nest egg, and promptly swept me off my feet. I now live a comfortable life in a lovely part of Flanders, taking the occasional pilgrimage to France and business trip to Italy. Have many international acquaintances, including a nice young lady from Italy whose family are associates of my husband. |
